I’ll be taking my little girl to her first ever Halloween party soon (yay!), and I always relish an opportunity for themed nail art! I wanted to stick to something simple so all of you lovely people are able to join in regardless of your skill level. These nails have a certain Dexter or CSI feel to them, don’t you think? So, here is my super easy, super effective “blood splatter” nail tutorial. Enjoy!
What you’ll need:
- White and deep red nail varnish
- Clear nail varnish (optional)
- Nail varnish remover
- Cotton bud (Q-tip)
- Plastic straw
Paint a layer of matte white varnish over all of your nails. Leave to dry before applying a second coat.
Once the white has completely dried, take your red varnish and dip the end of your straw into it. Place your hand onto a piece of scrap paper or a surface which you don’t mind getting a bit dirty.
Blow hard out of the other end of your straw so that the varnish splatters onto all of your nails. Keep going until you’re happy with the amount.
While the red varnish is still a tad gooey, dip the end of your cotton bud into your nail varnish remover and use it to wipe around your nails to tidy them up.
Step five (optional):
If you want the varnish to last a while it’s always a good idea to go over with a final layer of clear, just to seal it all together.
And you’re finished! Don’t they just look bloody amazing?! I know, terrible.
I hope you all enjoy Halloween! Please message below with any questions. Toodle-pip!
