Okay, so I’ll admit it: I like Frozen. I’m usually the one insisting on a horror film marathon while my boyfriend hides behind the cushions. But no, Disney has finally got me. I’ll also admit to singing “Do you want to build a snowmaaaaaan?!” through my sister’s bedroom door on more than one occasion. She wasn’t impressed.
So here’s my Frozen inspired nails. They’re not perfect, but I loved painting them and showing them off. I’m sure you will, too! Now just “Let it go” and give it a try!
What you’ll need:
- Nail varnish (medium blue, light blue, white)
- Clear varnish with silver glitter mixed in
- A needle
- A dotting tool
- Nail varnish remover
- Cotton bud (Q tip)
- Nail sponge OR a clean make up sponge
Paint all of your nails with medium blue. I made sure all of my varnishes were matte so that it shows off the glitter at the end. Once dry, apply another coat. Make sure it has dried completely before moving to the next step.
Use your sponge to dab the light blue at the tips of your nails, moving gently so that it blends into the other half. Then use a little nail varnish remover on the cotton bud to wipe off any that has spread onto your skin.
Take your needle, dip it into the white varnish and begin to draw your designs. I went for these sparkle shapes. I then used my dotting tool to add some snowball shapes in a variety of sizes.
Repeat the last step onto all of your nails, except for your ring finger.
TIP: Try not to make every nail too symmetrical!
While your other nails are drying, use your medium blue and your needle to very carefully draw on an “F”. I tried to get it as similar to the original Frozen font as possible. This might take a while, so be patient! I also tried to make this pretty thick so that it appears to be slightly 3D.
Clean your needle and begin to draw an outline around the F in white varnish. Then add in some patterns around it.
When all of your nails have fully dried, apply a thin layer of glitter varnish all over. If you have any messy bits around your nails you can always use another Q tip dipped in nail varnish remover to tidy them up.
Aaaaand you’re finished! Thanks for reading. I’ll be experimenting with other Disney inspired nail designs soon, so keep checking back. Have a magical day!
